CVTrust has built several web services to answer customers’ demand for automating the granting of Smart Certificates.
With these web services, an authorized educational organization is able to grant hundreds or thousands of Smart Certificates securely and automatically. These web services are very easy to use and allow full flexibility in granting and activating Smart Certificates.
When an educational organization wishes to automate the granting of Smart Certificates, it offers two APIs:
This is the most widely used API. It allows to grant Smart Certificates from internal system without having to go to our website. They just call our GRANT web service to grant Smart Certificates for a referenced educational program.
When our customers already have API in place, we can work with their existing API(s) to give them access to their graduates’ and alumni data necessary for the granting of Smart Certificates. In such cases, they connect to their Smart Certificate administration account and directly access their ERP/CRM or Student Management System to retrieve the information necessary to grant new Smart Certificates.
In both approaches, we give our customers full flexibility and security to automate the process of granting Smart Certificates. Whatever approach chosen, they will always have access to their Smart Certificate Administration account to monitor and manage their certificates. They will also be able to grant Smart Certificates through Excel or CSV files.
Our PUSH API is made up of several web services allowing you to grant and monitor Smart Certificates.
Our Web services have been developed according to the Microsoft WCF framework and SOAP protocol with XML. They use request-response type communications and are only available through a secured HTTPS connection to our web servers.
In addition to the SSL protection for data transmission, we require our customers to use the standard Rijndael (AES) symmetric encryption/decryption method for protecting sensitive data.
The GRANT web service
allows to request for the granting of Smart Certificates for a specific learning program. It gives the flexibility to request manual or automated activation of these certificates. Our customers may also take responsibility for notifying the graduates of their new certification, or let us notify them using their email template. In return for a call from our GRANT web service, they will receive detailed confirmation of the successful grant as well as activation details. If they decide to automatically activate the certificates, we will also send them the certificate preview and download link so they can embed them in their own web portal.
The CHECK VALIDITY web service
allows to check the authenticity of a Smart Certificate. This powerful tool allows our customers to create their own certificate validation process which will query their system to validate the Smart Certificate.
